Templates

What it is
A template is a pre-built starting point, such as a contact form, an event registration, a customer survey or a job application. You pick one, change the wording and branding, and publish. This feature counts how many templates are available. For example, a form tool with a large template library might offer a ready-made version for most common situations. Fillout, Google Forms, Jotform, Microsoft Forms, Tally and Typeform are tools in the library that list this feature.
Why it matters
Templates save time and show good structure, which helps people who are not sure what to ask or how to lay it out. A higher number is not always better, though, because quality and relevance matter more than count. You need templates if you set up forms often or want guidance on good practice. You can skip them if you have your own forms already designed and only need a tool to host them.
What to check
- Whether the templates cover your own use cases, rather than being many copies of the same few.
- Whether each template can be fully edited, including questions, logic and design.
- Whether all templates are on the free plan, or some are locked to paid tiers.
- Whether you can save your own forms as templates for your team to reuse.
