Visual no-code editor

What it is
A visual no-code editor shows the page as visitors will see it and lets you change it directly. You click a heading to rewrite it, drag a block to move it, swap an image and change colours, all without touching HTML or CSS. For example, a marketer can add a new section to a landing page in a few minutes without waiting for a developer. Carrd, Framer, Sellfy, Squarespace, Webflow, Wix and WordPress are tools in the library that list this feature.
Why it matters
When every page change needs a developer, updates are slow and costly, and small fixes wait in a queue. A visual editor puts control with the people who know what the page should say. You need one when non-technical staff manage the site or when you test new pages often. You may not need one if a development team already maintains the site in code, or if the site is so simple that it rarely changes. Editors differ a lot in how much freedom they give, so a trial matters.
What to check
- Whether you can change layout and design freely, or only fill in fixed templates.
- Whether pages look right on phones and tablets, and whether you can adjust each view.
- Whether you can add custom code when the editor reaches its limits.
- How easily a new colleague can learn to edit a page without help.
