Carrd

Builds simple responsive one-page websites without any code, using templates and drag-and-drop design.

Why Carrd

Carrd creates simple one-page websites in minutes using a drag-and-drop editor and templates, starting from scratch or a preset design. It suits landing pages, personal profiles and link-in-bio sites for founders, freelancers and small teams wanting a fast, low-cost single page rather than a full website builder.

Best for
Founders, freelancers and small teams who need a clean one-page site live today, such as a landing page, waiting list or link-in-bio.

What it does

Carrd builds simple, responsive one-page websites without code. You start from a template or a blank page, edit in a simple builder and publish. Pages adapt to phones, tablets and desktops.

On paid plans you can use your own domain with SSL, add forms, embed widgets and code, and connect analytics. You get up to three sites free on a Carrd address.

Why you would need it

Many ideas need a page, not a website. You want to test an offer, collect a waiting list, run an event or put a profile online. A full website builder is more than you need, and waiting for developer time kills the test.

Carrd gets the page live the same day. If the test works, you build more. If it does not, you have spent very little.

Where it fits

Carrd sits in front of your email and payment tools. A visitor lands on the page and either signs up or pays. It lists email sign-ups through Mailchimp, Kit, ActiveCampaign and EmailOctopus, and payments through Stripe, PayPal and Gumroad. Typeform can be embedded, and Google Analytics, Plausible and Matomo handle analytics.

It replaces a full website builder for single pages. It sits beside your main site as a place for tests and campaign pages.

What stands out

  • A free plan that covers up to three sites.
  • A very low yearly price on the paid plans, and plans are billed yearly.
  • Custom domains, forms and widgets on Pro Standard.
  • Custom forms that connect to Zapier, Make, n8n and Airtable on Pro Plus.

What it takes to set up

Setup is short. Pick a template, replace the text and images, connect a form to your email tool and publish. If you want your own domain, add it on a paid plan and Carrd gives you SSL. A first page can be live in an afternoon, and you can duplicate it for the next test. That speed is the whole point, because the cost of a wrong idea stays small.

My take

I like Carrd for what it is. It does one thing, quickly. If you need a landing page to test an offer, I would use it before opening a bigger builder.

What I would watch is the limit. One page per site means no real blog, and design control is narrower than in a full builder. When the test turns into a business, plan to move to something like Webflow or Framer.

Verdict

Pick Carrd if you need a clean page quickly to test an idea or collect sign-ups. Skip it if you need a multi-page company site with a content system.

Before you choose

One page per site

Carrd is built for single pages. You can run several sites and link them, but there is no content system. If SEO content is part of your plan, choose a builder with proper blog and page management such as WordPress or Webflow.

Features sit on specific plans

Forms, widgets, embeds and analytics need Pro Standard or above. Custom forms that connect to automation tools, password protection and redirects need Pro Plus. Check which plan has what you need before you build, so you do not rebuild a page later.

Design control

You get a clean builder, not pixel-level control. Complex layouts and animations are limited. Test your design on a phone before you send traffic.

Integrations are a fixed list

Email and payment connections are the ones Carrd names. If your email tool is not on the list, you will need a form that posts into an automation tool. Confirm that before you commit.
