Writesonic
Why Writesonic
Writesonic is an AI content platform that generates long-form articles, marketing copy and SEO-optimised content. It now tracks how a brand appears in AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise marketers, agencies and growth teams use it to manage search and AI search visibility.
What it does
Writesonic started as an AI writer. Today it is an AI search visibility platform. It tracks how your brand shows up in answers from AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, and it keeps its content tools on the side.
You give it a set of prompts to track. It reports your visibility, your share of voice, which sources get cited and how the AI describes you. Then it suggests what to fix and has agents rewrite existing content to be cited more often.
Why you would need it
You feel the pain when a buyer asks an AI tool for a shortlist and your company is not on it. Classic rank tracking tells you nothing about that. Your Google position can be fine while the answer engines send people to a competitor.
Writesonic gives you a measured starting point instead of guesswork. You see where competitors are named and you are not, you fix the page, and you check whether the citations moved.
Where it fits
It sits beside your SEO and analytics stack. It reads from Google Analytics and Search Console, and its content agents feed changes back to your CMS, with WordPress named as an integration. It does not replace your CMS or your classic SEO suite. It adds an AI search layer on top.
It can replace a spreadsheet of manually typed prompts that someone checks every Friday. That alone is a good reason to look.
What stands out
- It goes past reporting. Technical audits cover robots.txt, schema and indexing issues for AI crawlers.
- It measures results after a fix ships: citation share, traffic and conversions.
- Plans scale by tracked prompts, AI articles and users, so you can see what you are buying.
- There is an official MCP server, so you can query your visibility data from Claude.
My take
I would pick it when AI answers are already a channel your buyers use and you have someone who will act on the fixes. A tracker is only useful if the page changes follow.
I would be careful if you only want a cheap AI copywriter. The product is now built around search visibility, not plain content generation. If tracking is all you need, compare it with Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Profound and Scrunch AI before you commit.
Verdict
Pick Writesonic if you want to track and improve how AI answers describe your brand, and you will use the agents and audits. Skip it if you only need blog drafts or if nobody owns the follow-up work.
Notes
Your note
Before you choose
No permanent free plan
There is a 7-day free trial and no free plan. Use the trial with your real prompts and your real competitors, not demo data, so you can judge the output.

Limits sit on the lower plans
The entry plans cap tracked prompts, AI articles and users. The Enterprise plan is the one that covers all the AI platforms, SSO and a dedicated strategy team. Check which platforms are tracked on the plan you are looking at before you buy.
The MCP server needs a paid plan
The official MCP server only works with an active paid plan and at least one project with tracked prompts. If agent access is why you are buying, test it during the trial.
Compare before you commit
AI visibility is a crowded category. Look at Ahrefs Brand Radar, Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Profound and Scrunch AI. Decide whether you want tracking only, or tracking plus content fixes.
