Tolt
Why Tolt
Tolt is an affiliate and referral marketing platform designed for SaaS startups to launch and manage partner programmes from a single dashboard. It integrates with subscription billing systems including Stripe, Paddle and Chargebee, offers a branded affiliate portal on a custom domain, and handles tracking, commissions and payouts. It is built for early-stage SaaS companies and indie hackers running affiliate-led growth.
What it does
Tolt is affiliate and referral software built for SaaS companies. You connect your billing system, and Tolt tracks which affiliate sent each customer, calculates commissions, and pays affiliates. Affiliates get a branded portal, which you can host on your own domain.
It connects to Stripe, Paddle and Chargebee, and the vendor says setup takes around 15 minutes. It tracks clicks with a script on your site, or through direct API calls if you prefer.
Why you would need it
You feel the need when growth depends on paid ads and you want a second channel. Customers, newsletters and creators already talk about your product. An affiliate programme turns that into a channel with a clear rule: you pay only when someone becomes a customer.
The pain of doing it by hand is bookkeeping. Tracking who referred whom, checking refunds and cancellations, and paying people each month in spreadsheets does not survive the first ten affiliates.
Where it fits
Tolt sits between your billing platform and your partners. It reads subscription events from Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee, and the two-way sync means it knows when a customer cancels or is refunded. Payouts go through PayPal, Wise or Payoneer.
It replaces a manual referral process and spreadsheets. It sits beside your CRM and email tool rather than inside them. Affiliates can also be your own users, which is why a portal that matches your brand matters.
What stands out
- A branded affiliate portal on your own domain, with custom email notifications.
- Percentage or fixed commissions, manual or automatic affiliate approval, and a public or private programme.
- Automatic payouts, plus invoices for affiliates and tax form handling on higher plans.
- An API covering partners, customers, clicks, links, commissions, transactions and promotion codes, and an official MCP server.
My take
I like that Tolt does one job for one type of company. If you sell subscriptions through Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee, the setup is short and the portal looks like yours.
What I would watch is how the plans scale. They are tied to how much affiliates earn for you each month, and to the number of programmes, team members and commission flows. That is fair, but a successful programme moves you up the ladder. Plan for that.
Verdict
Pick Tolt if you run a SaaS product on a supported billing system and want a lean affiliate programme with a good portal. Skip it if you sell physical products, need a marketplace of affiliates, or run many brands and regions.
Notes
Your note
Before you choose
Billing system fit
Tolt is built around Stripe, Paddle and Chargebee. If you use another billing tool, such as Lemon Squeezy or Recurly, check first whether tracking works, or whether you must send events through the API yourself.

Plans scale with affiliate revenue
Each plan has a ceiling on the revenue earned from affiliates each month, plus limits on programmes, partner groups, team members and commission flows. Manual payouts only apply on the entry plan, and automatic payouts carry a processing fee. Work out where your programme will be in a year, not just on launch day.
You still need affiliates
Software does not recruit partners. You need a plan for finding and supporting affiliates, with clear terms and good assets. Budget time for that, not just for the tool.
Compare the alternatives
Rewardful, FirstPromoter and Tapfiliate are close rivals for SaaS programmes. For broader partner programmes, look at PartnerStack, and for complex commission models and multi-brand setups, look at Trackdesk. Compare them on your billing system, payout methods and how the fees are structured.
