Manages contacts, deals and pipelines for B2B sales teams with built-in phone and AI lead scoring.

Why Freshsales

Freshsales is a cloud CRM that combines contact and deal management with a visual pipeline, built-in email and phone, and Freddy AI for lead scoring. It suits B2B sales teams that need repeatable pipeline tracking without enterprise software cost. Free tier starts at three users.

Best for
Small and mid-sized B2B sales teams that want a clean CRM with a visual pipeline, lead scoring and built-in email and calling, particularly if they already use other Freshworks products.

What it does

Freshsales is the sales CRM in the Freshworks suite. It keeps contacts, accounts and deals in one place and shows your pipeline as a kanban board that you drag through stages. Freddy AI scores leads by intent, recommends deals to focus on and helps write emails. You also get a 360-degree view of each customer, campaigns to generate leads and automation of repetitive tasks. A bigger bundle, Freshsales Suite, adds marketing.

Why you would need it

Many small teams sell from an inbox and a spreadsheet. Deals are forgotten, nobody can see what is likely to close this quarter, and each person tracks things differently. Reps spend their time on admin instead of calls.

A CRM gives the team one version of the truth. Freshsales is built for people who want that without a long implementation. You see the pipeline, you know who to call next, and your manager can forecast without chasing updates.

Where it fits

Freshsales sits at the centre of your sales process. Your website forms and campaigns feed it with leads, and your email and phone feed it with activity. It feeds reporting and, for Freshworks users, links with Freshdesk, so sales sees support history. It replaces spreadsheets and a basic contact manager.

What stands out

  • Visual pipeline. Kanban views with drag-and-drop cards make the process easy to see.
  • Intent scores and deal recommendations. Freddy AI points reps at the leads and deals most worth the time.
  • One vendor across sales and support. The 360 view helps if you also use Freshworks for service.
  • Documented API. Contacts, accounts and deals can be read, upserted and bulk updated.

My take

I'd pick Freshsales when the team is small, the process is simple and you want something quick to learn. It is a sensible choice if you already use Freshdesk.

What I'd watch is the ecosystem and depth. HubSpot has a larger set of apps, and its marketing and reporting tools go further. If you plan to grow your sales operation, think about whether you will outgrow Freshsales. I'd test a real week of your pipeline in the trial before choosing. Compare Pipedrive, Zoho CRM and Close too.

Verdict

Pick Freshsales when you want an easy sales CRM with AI help and a pipeline view, and ideally already use Freshworks. Skip it when you need deep marketing automation, advanced revenue reporting or a very large app ecosystem.

Before you choose

Plans are per user

Freshsales is charged per user and the vendor shows prices billed annually. There is a 21-day trial with no card, and you should check the current pricing page for whether a permanent free plan exists before you plan around one.

AI features sit on higher plans

Freddy AI features such as lead scoring and recommendations may depend on the plan. Check what your tier includes before you count on them. Test the scores against deals you already know the outcome of.

Depth and ecosystem

Reporting, automation and apps are good for a small team but not unlimited. If you need heavy revenue operations or many third-party connections, compare HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive.

Migration and data

Moving contacts and deals in is easy to underestimate. Clean duplicates, agree on stages and fields, and decide who owns what before you import. If you leave later, export your data first so you keep activity history.
