Channels

What it is
This feature lists the channels a tool can use to reach prospects. Common ones are email, LinkedIn messages and connection requests, phone calls through a dialer, SMS and WhatsApp. Some tools do one channel well, while others combine several in a single sequence, for example an email on day one, a LinkedIn visit on day three and a call task on day five.
Why it matters
Buyers do not all answer on the same channel, and a founder selling to finance directors will see different results from an agency selling to local shops. A multichannel sequence can raise the number of touches without sending more emails, but it also means more setup, more accounts to protect and more rules to follow. You need several channels when email alone is not getting replies or when your buyers are hard to reach by inbox. A single channel is often enough for a small team that wants to start simply and learn what works.
The channel list also affects cost and risk, since each channel has its own limits, sending rules and compliance duties, and these differ by country.
What to check
- Which channels are fully built in, and which only create a manual task for you to do by hand?
- Can one sequence mix channels, and does it stop all of them when a prospect replies?
- Do replies from every channel arrive in one place?
- Are there extra accounts, add-ons or limits per channel that change what you can actually run?
