Reply.io
Why Reply.io
Reply.io automates outreach sequences across email, LinkedIn, calls and SMS from one dashboard. It is built for B2B sales teams and sales development reps who run prospecting across several channels at once. The platform coordinates your messages, handles replies and connects to your CRM, so every touch with a prospect is tracked in one record.
What it does
Reply.io is a sales engagement platform. You load contacts, build a sequence of steps across email, LinkedIn, calls and SMS and let the platform run it. It sends the first email, waits for a reply or a set number of days, moves on to the LinkedIn step, then creates a call task.
Replies land in a shared inbox, tasks are created for manual steps and reports show emails delivered, opened and replied to, plus meetings booked. It also sells an AI SDR called Jason, which runs outbound with a knowledge base and an approval queue.
Why you would need it
Outbound by hand does not scale. A rep sends emails from a mailbox, remembers to follow up on a few of them and forgets the rest. LinkedIn messages and calls live in other tools, so nobody sees the whole conversation with a prospect.
You feel it when follow-ups slip and replies get lost. A sequence tool makes the follow-up automatic, keeps the channels in step and stops sending the moment somebody replies.
Where it fits
Reply.io sits between your prospect list and your CRM. Lists come from tools such as Apollo, Lusha or ZoomInfo, the sequences go out through your mailboxes and LinkedIn accounts, and meetings and replies go back to the CRM.
It replaces manual follow-up and a mix of mailbox plug-ins. It sits alongside the sending-health tools such as Mailreach or Warmup Inbox if you care about deliverability.
What stands out
- Multichannel sequences across email, LinkedIn, calls and SMS in one workflow.
- A documented REST API, webhooks and a hosted MCP server with 70 tools.
- Jason, an AI SDR with a knowledge base and approvals.
- A plan built on active contacts, with unlimited users and mailboxes, so a team can grow without paying for every seat on that plan.
My take
Reply.io is good when you run a defined outbound motion, with a list, a message and a goal. It is built for volume and for control over cadence.
What I would watch is the risk that comes with any outbound tool. If your list is poor or your sequences are too aggressive, you damage your domain reputation, and no tool fixes that. Start with a short sequence, a small daily limit and a clean list, and watch the reply and bounce rates weekly. I also would not turn on an AI SDR without an approval step.
Verdict
Pick Reply.io if you do outbound across several channels and want sequencing, a shared inbox and an API in one place. Skip it if your sales are mostly inbound or account-based with highly personal outreach, where a CRM sequence feature is enough. HubSpot sequences are a simpler place to start for low volume.
Notes
Your note
Before you choose
Understand what a plan includes
Reply.io offers an Email Volume plan, a Multichannel plan and the Jason AI SDR. The Email Volume plan scales with active contacts and has unlimited users and mailboxes, while Multichannel is priced per user. LinkedIn automation and calls and SMS are add-ons per account. Count your contacts, users and channels before you compare it with a competitor.

Deliverability is your job
Reply.io sends from your own mailboxes. Domain setup, warm-up and list quality decide whether the mail lands in the inbox. Plan time for that, and consider a separate sending domain. Tools such as Mailreach and Warmup Inbox help you monitor it.
LinkedIn and calling rules apply
LinkedIn limits automation, and your account can be restricted if you push too hard. Reply.io has daily limit settings for LinkedIn actions. Keep to conservative numbers. Calling and SMS also have local rules on consent, so check them for your target countries.
Compare it with other outreach tools
Lemlist, Instantly, Smartlead and Salesloft cover similar ground. Some are cheaper and email-focused, others offer more team oversight. Test your real sequence in two tools and compare setup effort and deliverability.
