Schedule social posts, analyse engagement, and manage paid campaigns across multiple platforms in one place.

Why Metricool

Metricool is a social media management platform combining content scheduling, audience analytics, and ad-campaign tracking across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter and other channels. It suits social media managers, in-house marketing teams and agencies managing multiple brands or client accounts. Approval workflows and white-label reporting support team collaboration.

Best for
Social media managers, small marketing teams and agencies who run several brands and want planning, analytics and client reports in one dashboard instead of five logins.

What it does

Metricool is a social media management tool. You connect your accounts, plan posts in a drag-and-drop calendar and read the results in the same place. It covers Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, X, Twitch, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

Around the calendar sit analytics, competitor tracking, a shared inbox for messages and comments, and reports that build themselves. It also reports on ads for Google, Facebook and TikTok. Two extras are worth knowing: SmartLinks for link-in-bio pages, and Flows, which automates replies in direct messages once someone reacts to your content.

Why you would need it

Social media costs time before it costs money. One person posts to five networks, opens each of them to read the numbers, and then rebuilds the same figures in a spreadsheet for the monthly report. The pain shows up the day a client or a manager asks how social did last month, and the answer takes half a day.

Metricool puts planning and numbers in one tab. Posts go out from one calendar and the report generates itself. What changes is that reporting stops being a separate job.

Where it fits

Metricool sits at the front of your social workflow. Your ideas, your Canva designs, Adobe Express files and Google Drive folders feed the planner. It feeds your reports, including a Looker Studio connection, and your wider marketing numbers.

It replaces the native scheduler of each network and the folder of screenshots. It does not replace a CRM. If your sales process runs in HubSpot, you still need social traffic to arrive there as tracked visits.

What stands out

  • The brand-based structure. The plans count brands, not seats, which suits an agency with many small clients.
  • A planner that suggests the best times to post and has an approval system, so clients can sign off before anything goes live.
  • Reports that generate themselves, plus a campaign dashboard and the Looker Studio connection.
  • Ads for Google, Facebook and TikTok shown in one dashboard next to your organic posts.
  • An official MCP server, so Claude and other AI tools can read your numbers and schedule posts.

My take

I'd pick Metricool when the work is mostly planning, measuring and reporting across many accounts. The reporting is the strongest reason. Anything that turns a half-day report into a scheduled export pays for itself quickly.

What I'd watch is the ads side. It is a place to see and manage campaigns next to your organic posts. I would not expect it to replace the native ad managers for serious paid work. Also check how many brands and competitor profiles your plan allows before you promise a client anything.

Verdict

Pick Metricool if you manage several brands or clients and the reporting eats your week. Skip it if you post to one network only, or if your social work is really paid advertising. In that case a dedicated ad tool does more for you.

Before you choose

Limits on the free plan

There is a free plan, and it works for one brand. It limits scheduled posts and competitor profiles, and it keeps analytics history short. That is enough to test the planner. It is not enough for an agency, so count your real brands and posts before you rely on it.

Which features sit on which plan

Team management, post approvals and API access sit on the Advanced plan, according to the pricing page. If you need client approvals or the API, check that plan first. Do not assume Starter covers it.

You pay by brand

The plans scale with the number of brands, not with seats. That is good news for a lean team with many accounts. It is less good if you add brands quickly, so work out the cost at the number of brands you expect in a year.

Compare it with other schedulers

Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, Publer and SocialPilot cover the same ground. Try the same week of real posts in two of them. Look at the approval flow and the report layout, because that is where they differ.
