What it is
Official Help Scout MCP server, announced generally available (out of beta) in Help Scout's blog post 'Help Scout's MCP server is now available' (articles.helpscout.com/blog/introducing-help-scout-mcp/). Remote server URL is https://mcp.helpscout.net/mcp (an endpoint, not a browsable page). Currently read-only; each team member connects via Help Scout's own OAuth sign-in with their own credentials, so the AI assistant only sees data that user is authorized to view. Available on Standard, Plus, and Pro plans (any plan with API access); report tools require Plus or Pro; Docs search/read requires a Docs API key. Setup guide: docs.helpscout.com/article/1779-connect-your-ai-agent-with-help-scout-to-search-conversations-and-pull-reports. Third-party MCP servers also exist (GravityKit/help-scout-mcp on GitHub; StackOne hosted MCP server).

How to automate Help Scout

Native integrations

The vendor lists more than 100 integrations, including HubSpot, Slack, Shopify and Zapier, and its higher plans add Salesforce and Jira. One idea: connect HubSpot so that account context sits next to every conversation, and your agents know who they are talking to.

API and webhooks

Help Scout has a Mailbox API and a Docs API for reading and writing data, plus webhooks for notifications about activity. A Chat API lets you handle live Beacon conversations. One idea: use a webhook on new conversations to alert a Slack channel when a message mentions "cancel".

No-code automation

Help Scout lists Zapier among its integrations. One idea: when a conversation is tagged "feature request", create a row in a sheet or a task in your product tool, so requests are counted and not forgotten. Check whether a Make app is available before you plan a flow in it.

MCP server

Help Scout has an official, read-only MCP server at its own domain, available on plans with API access. An assistant can search and summarise conversations, look up customers and read Docs, and report tools need Plus or Pro. It cannot reply or change tags. One idea: ask an assistant to list the top recurring problems from last week's conversations.
