How to use Amplitude
Amplitude empowers product teams to make data-driven decisions by providing granular visibility into how users actually behave with your product. Rather than making educated guesses about what drives engagement, Amplitude shows you exactly what's happening, enabling you to iterate with confidence and maximise impact.
How to automate Amplitude
API and webhooks
Amplitude has a broad set of APIs, including a Batch Event Upload API, a "Behavioral Cohorts API" and a Dashboard REST API. Use the upload API to send events from your backend or from a data warehouse.
Automation idea: send an event when a customer's payment fails, and build a cohort of those users for a retention campaign.
Native integrations
Amplitude connects to many marketing and product tools through cohorts and event streams. Pair it with a customer data tool such as Segment or RudderStack, so that one tracking setup feeds Amplitude and everything else.
Automation idea: sync a cohort of users who stalled at onboarding to your email tool, and send them a help message.
No-code automation
Amplitude has an app on Zapier. Use it to send events from tools without a native connection, or to trigger actions elsewhere.
MCP server
Amplitude has an official MCP server that works on every plan, including the free one. Connect it to an assistant such as Claude and ask which step of your funnel lost the most users last week, and what those users had in common.
