What it is
Vendor-shipped hosted remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP transport) documented at https://docs.tryprofound.com/mcp/overview, marked 'Available on: the Enterprise plan'. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 browser sign-in (recommended); a long-lived Bearer API key is also supported but requires the Enterprise plan plus API access. Connection guides cover Claude, Claude Desktop/Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, ChatGPT, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. A separate 'Profound CMS' MCP is documented at cms.docs.tryprofound.com (endpoint http://107.21.107.99:8081/mcp, WorkOS OAuth), apparently a distinct CMS product.

How to automate Profound

MCP server

Profound hosts an MCP server at https://mcp.tryprofound.com/mcp. It exposes visibility, sentiment, citation, shopping and agent analytics reports, prompt management, knowledge bases, documents, projects and its agents. One concrete idea: ask Claude for this week's citation report in your category and a list of pages that lost citations.

API and webhooks

Profound documents a public API at docs.tryprofound.com. Check the API reference for webhook support. One concrete idea: pull visibility data into a spreadsheet or dashboard every week for your leadership report. You could use Google Sheets for that.

Native integrations

The vendor lists more than 200 integrations, including Google Analytics, Vercel, several CDNs and CMS platforms such as Contentful. One concrete idea: connect your CDN logs so Profound can show which AI bots crawl your pages.

Built-in automation

Its AI Marketer agents run content work with approval. One concrete idea: have an agent rewrite pages that lost citations, stage them in your CMS, and review them before they go live.
