Progress tracking

Records which people have started, finished or are stuck on a task, course, checklist or process, and shows that progress to managers.

What it is

Progress tracking shows who has done what. A manager can open a view and see that one new hire has finished three of five onboarding steps while another has not started. Process Street does this for checklists, Trainual for training content, and Bloom Growth OS for goals and weekly priorities. The status is usually shown as a percentage, a tick or a simple list of what remains.

Why it matters

Without it, you find out that training or a process was skipped only when something goes wrong. It matters most when work must be completed in full, for example onboarding, safety training, compliance or a recurring quality checklist. It also helps spot where people get stuck. It matters less for a small team that talks daily, where a quick conversation does the same job.

What to check

  • Can you see progress per person, per team and per item?
  • Are reminders sent automatically to people who fall behind?
  • Can you export a completion record if an auditor or client asks for proof?
  • Does progress update by itself, or must people tick items manually?
