Automated reminders

What it is
Automated reminders are messages or notifications that the tool sends according to a rule you set once. The trigger might be a meeting start, a task due date or a training that has not been completed. For example, an email goes out the day before a call, or a message nudges a team member about an unfinished task. Bloom Growth OS, Evernote, Google Calendar, Slack and Trainual list this feature.
Why it matters
People forget things, and chasing them manually is tedious. Reminders cut missed meetings, late tasks and unfinished work without anyone playing the nag. They are most useful for appointments, onboarding steps and recurring routines. Too many reminders, however, teach people to ignore them.
What to check
- Can you choose the timing and the channel, such as email, text message or in-app?
- Can you customise the wording and stop reminders once the task is done?
- Who receives the reminders: only you, the team or outside guests too?
- Is there a limit on reminders in the plan you are considering?
