Onboarding & training

The tool helps you guide new hires through tasks, documents and training, with steps you can assign, track and repeat.

What it is

Employee onboarding features organise the first weeks of a new hire. They typically include checklists, assigned tasks, document collection, training content and progress tracking. For example, a new starter receives a checklist covering account setup, policies to read and a first-week training course, and the manager sees what is done. Process Street and Trainual list this feature.

Why it matters

A patchy start means slow ramp-up, repeated questions and things forgotten, such as access or contracts. A repeatable process makes every hire's start consistent and reduces your own involvement. It pays off as soon as you hire more than once or twice a year. If you hire rarely, a simple document may be enough.

What to check

  • Can you build a template and reuse it for every role?
  • Can tasks be assigned to different people, such as IT or finance, with due dates?
  • Can you see who has completed what, and get alerted when something stalls?
  • Can you attach policies and collect signatures or acknowledgements?
