Dynamic text replacement

Dynamic text replacement changes words on a landing page automatically to mirror what the visitor just searched for or clicked. If someone searches for "emergency plumber in Leeds" and clicks your advert, the headline can read "Emergency plumber in Leeds" instead of a generic "Plumbing services". The page picks up the wording from a parameter in the link, such as a keyword or campaign value, and drops it into a marked spot in the text. Instapage, Leadpages and Unbounce are examples of tools that offer it.

Visitors decide within seconds whether a page matches what they were looking for. When the headline repeats their own words, the page feels relevant and fewer people leave straight away. It also lets one page serve many keywords or ad groups without building a separate page for each.

You need it when you buy search or social traffic across many closely related terms. You may not need it for a small campaign with a few keywords, where writing a handful of dedicated pages is manageable. It also needs care: a headline that fills in an odd or badly worded term can look careless, so a sensible fallback matters.
