Solid Growth models a business as six factories. The factory is a dimension, not a folder: a record is not stored inside one, it is filed under a place in the model, and you can look at the same records by factory.
The model
The model is one tree, factory, layer, line, play:
- the six factories are Brand, Client acquisition, Value delivery, Value creation, People and Finance;
- each has four layers: Systems, Strategy, Execution and Autonomy;
- the lines of a factory sit under its Execution layer, and a play (a playbook) sits under a line.
The model is public to read and is changed by Solid Growth, not by a workspace. Each node has a stable key made of the keys above it, for example {factory}/{line}/{play}.
Filing a record
Pages, work, metrics and decisions can carry a node of the model. A record without one is simply not filed yet.
