Folk
Why Folk
Folk is a lightweight, contact-first CRM that syncs people, companies and pipelines from Gmail, Outlook and LinkedIn. It automatically enriches contact data and includes embedded email sequences to run campaigns directly from the CRM. It is designed for small teams and agencies that want speed and simplicity over heavyweight platforms.
What it does
folk is a CRM built around people and companies. It syncs contacts and conversations from Gmail, Outlook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Google Contacts and your calendar, so records fill themselves. It adds one-click enrichment, messages and email sequences, pipeline management and AI assistants that do research and update records in the background. The interface works like a shared spreadsheet that you can group, filter and open as a board.
Why you would need it
Plenty of small teams run relationships out of an inbox, a LinkedIn tab and a spreadsheet. Nobody knows who spoke to whom last, a follow-up is forgotten and a lead is entered twice. A heavy CRM fixes that on paper, but it takes setup and training that a small team will not do.
folk gives you a contact database that updates from the tools your team already uses. You see the whole history with a person and the next step in one place.
Where it fits
folk sits between your inbox and your outreach. Gmail, Outlook, LinkedIn and your calendar feed it. It feeds your sequences, your pipeline and your team's follow-ups. It replaces the shared spreadsheet and, for a small team, separate enrichment and outreach tools.
The vendor lists integrations with Fireflies, tl;dv, Quo, PandaDoc, Apollo and others.
What stands out
- Contacts fill themselves. Email, LinkedIn, calendar and messaging sync keep records current.
- Enrichment and outreach in the CRM. You find emails and run sequences without leaving it.
- An official MCP server and a public API. Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants can read and write your workspace.
- A free trial. There is a 14-day trial with no card, and plans are priced per member.
My take
I'd pick folk when relationships are the product, as in agencies, consultants and small B2B sales teams, and you want a CRM people will actually keep up to date. It is faster to set up than a full suite.
What I'd watch is the ceiling. If you need complex reporting, many pipelines, permissions and workflow automation, you will outgrow it. HubSpot is the full platform to compare against, and folk does not try to be that.
Verdict
Pick folk when you are a small team that sells through relationships and wants a light CRM that syncs your inbox and LinkedIn. Skip it when you need a heavy sales process, detailed forecasting or a large team with strict permissions.
Notes
Your note
Before you choose
It is lighter than a full CRM
folk is designed for simplicity. If you need deep reporting, complex territories or advanced workflows, compare HubSpot, Pipedrive or Attio. Decide what your CRM must do in a year, not just now, because moving contacts later takes effort.

Plans are priced per member
There is a 14-day trial, and after it the account is limited. Check the pricing page for whether there is a permanent free plan. Check which features, such as sequences, enrichment credits and integrations, sit on which plan before you invite the team.
Sync depends on your tools
The strength is syncing Gmail, Outlook and LinkedIn. That means your data rules matter: who sees which conversations, and how personal contacts are kept apart. Read the settings for shared and private data before you connect everyone's inbox, especially in a regulated or privacy-sensitive field.
Check enrichment and outreach limits
Enrichment and sequences are convenient, but the volume and cost depend on your plan. If outbound is your main motion, compare it with a dedicated tool such as Apollo or lemlist.
