Sandbox environment
Try changes in a separate sandbox or test copy of your CRM account before they go live.

What it is
A sandbox environment is a separate test copy of your CRM account. You can change fields, automations and integrations there without affecting real customer records, and then move the changes live when they work. For example, you can try a new deal pipeline in the sandbox with dummy data before the sales team ever sees it. HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce are among the tools that offer this.
Why it matters
A mistaken automation or import in a live CRM can email customers, overwrite data or confuse the team. A sandbox lets you check changes safely first. It matters for larger teams, regulated work and heavily customised set-ups. A small team with a simple pipeline and few automations may not need one.
What to check
- Ask whether the sandbox is a copy of your real data, a sample set or empty.
- Check how changes are moved from the sandbox into the live account, and whether that can be done by hand or in bulk.
- Find out whether the sandbox is available on your plan or needs a higher tier.
- Test whether integrations and automations behave in the sandbox without sending real messages.
