The verdict
For time tracking, Toggl is the better tool, and it is not close. It tracks across every surface, runs timesheets and approvals, handles billable rates and invoicing, and starts free for up to five users. That is the full job, done properly, at a price a lean founder can stomach.
Motion is excellent at something else. Its AI auto-schedules your tasks onto your calendar, and the time tracking in its Business AI tier is a useful by-product, not a billing-grade system , no timesheets, no invoicing, and it costs 29 USD per seat per month to even reach it.
So the decision is really about what you are buying. Need to measure and bill time? Toggl. Want an AI planner that also gives you a rough sense of where hours went? Motion. Don't buy Motion expecting Toggl's tracking, and don't buy Toggl expecting Motion's calendar.
