FirstPromoter vs Rewardful

FirstPromoter logovsRewardful logo
Both run SaaS affiliate programmes from your billing data. Rewardful is built around Stripe and aims for a fast launch. FirstPromoter covers more billing tools and gives finer control over commissions and payouts.

The verdict

If you bill through Stripe and want to be live fast with little engineering, pick Rewardful. The vendor says set-up takes under 15 minutes, and it does a narrow job well.

If you bill through Paddle, Recurly, Chargebee or Braintree, or you want lifetime recurring and tiered commissions with clawback on cancellation, pick FirstPromoter.

On Stripe alone it is close, so I do not name a winner. Look at the revenue caps on each plan against your forecast, because a programme that works moves you up a tier in both. Neither recruits affiliates for you.

Who each is for

FirstPromoter logo

Choose FirstPromoter if…

Pick FirstPromoter when you want more control over how partners are paid. It offers percentage, flat, one-time, lifetime recurring and tiered rates with clawback rules, coupon codes synced into Stripe, and tax forms and EU-compliant invoices built into payouts.

The portal can sit on your own domain with custom CSS and JavaScript, or be embedded in your app with automatic login. It has an experimental MCP server, though payouts and commission creation stay in the dashboard on purpose. Decide your commission and clawback rules before inviting partners, because changing them later upsets people.

Rewardful logo

Choose Rewardful if…

Pick Rewardful when you are a Stripe-based SaaS and want the straightforward route. Partners sign up through a branded portal, get tracked links and coupon codes, and Rewardful follows the visit through to the Stripe payment and works out the commission.

You set percentage or fixed commissions, one-time or recurring, cookie length, minimum payouts and first or last touch attribution. It flags suspected self-referrals and pays in bulk through PayPal or Wise. It offers a REST API, a JavaScript API and signed webhooks, but no MCP server. If you do not use Stripe, check support before committing.
