Better Proposals
Why Better Proposals
Converting proposals into branded web pages clients view and sign directly cuts cycle time and automates follow-up. Sales teams and service firms use it to track proposal reads and trigger post-signature onboarding. It unifies document creation, e-signature collection, and payment processing in a single platform.
What it does
Better Proposals turns a proposal into a branded web page that your client opens, reads, signs and pays from. You build it from templates and a content library, send it as a link, and follow what happens. It covers writing, sending, following up, signing and taking the first payment. After signing, it can send the client to onboarding forms.
Why you would need it
You feel the pain when proposals live in Word and PDF. Fonts break, attachments get lost, and you do not know whether the client read page three or never opened it. Follow-ups happen when you remember. Then the signed copy comes back as a scan.
A web proposal changes that. You get notified when it is opened and see which sections were read, in what order and for how long. The follow-up becomes a decision based on what you can see.
Where it fits
It sits between your CRM and your billing. A deal comes in from the CRM, the proposal goes out, and the signed document and first payment come back. The vendor names HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zapier, Stripe and Slack among its integrations, and payments through Stripe, PayPal and GoCardless.
It replaces a word processor, a separate e-signature tool and a manual payment request. My own background is in Pipedrive and now HubSpot, so I look first at how a proposal attaches to a deal and whether the signed status flows back.
What stands out
- Branded output with little design work, so nobody needs design skills.
- Interactive pricing tables the client can adjust, and live chat on the proposal.
- Legally binding digital signatures, with payment and onboarding forms after signing.
- Open and read tracking, and a follow-up feature called Nudge that works through email, WhatsApp and Zapier.
- Human support, as the vendor states.
My take
For a team that sends proposals every week, this is a sensible tool. The value is the follow-up loop: you see engagement, nudge at the right time and get the signature and payment in one go. Most deals do not die from a bad proposal. They die from silence, and this tool is built to reduce the silence.
I would not buy it for one-off documents, or if you already have a strong proposal tool inside your CRM. Check where your CRM integration sits in the plans, since the entry plan has none.
Verdict
Pick Better Proposals if you send proposals to clients every week and want signing and payment in the same link. Skip it if you only need a signature on a finished PDF.
Notes
Your note
Before you choose
CRM integration depends on the plan
The CRM integrations, a custom domain and API or Zapier access start on the Premium plan, not the entry plan. If your process depends on HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive, price the plan that includes it.

Follow-up automation costs extra
Nudge is an add-on on every plan. If follow-up is the main reason you are buying, include it in your comparison from the start.
Collaboration features sit on the top plan
Content locking, inline comments, manager approvals and advanced permissions are on the Enterprise plan. A small team may not need them. A larger team with legal or finance review will.
Alternatives to compare
PandaDoc, Proposify, Qwilr and GetAccept cover the same ground with different strengths. The vendor's own comparison pages name several of these. Run one real proposal through two tools before you decide.
