Step-level sequence analytics

What it is
Step-level analytics break a sequence's results down by message. Instead of one overall reply rate, you see how step one, step two and step three each performed: how many were opened, how many got replies and how many led to a meeting. For example, you might find that the first email gets most of the replies while the fourth gets almost none and a few unsubscribes. Outreach is listed as a tool that offers it.
Why it matters
A sequence total hides what is working. Step-level figures show where to improve, which message to rewrite, and which steps to cut. They matter when you run sequences at enough volume for the numbers to be meaningful, and when you test different subject lines or wording. With only a handful of prospects, the percentages swing wildly and tell you little. Open rates are also less reliable than they used to be because of privacy features in mail apps, so replies and meetings are the better measures.
What to check
- Does it show replies and meetings per step, or only opens and clicks.
- Can you compare versions of the same step in an A/B test.
- Can you filter by rep, team, template or time period.
- Can you export the data or see it in a dashboard.
