Outreach
Why Outreach
Outreach is a sales engagement and agentic AI platform for revenue teams. It runs multi-channel sequences, records and analyses calls and meetings, tracks deals and pipeline, and offers AI agents for research, deal management and forecasting. It is sold as seat-based packages plus AI credits, with pricing on request.
What it does
Outreach is a platform for the whole sales workflow. It runs multi-channel sequences and tasks for prospecting, handles meeting scheduling, and records calls with real-time transcription, sentiment analysis and coaching cards. It also covers deal and pipeline management, account planning and forecasting.
On top sits a set of AI agents: a Research Agent, a Deal Agent, a Meeting Prep Agent and an Omni Agent, with credits that pay for AI usage. Outreach packages everything as Amplify Essentials, Core, Plus and Pro.
Why you would need it
You feel the need when reps run follow-up from memory and a spreadsheet. Some prospects get six touches, others get none, and managers have no view of what is working. Calls are not reviewed, so coaching is guesswork.
Outreach standardises the process. Every rep follows the same sequences, every call is transcribed, and managers see deal health and forecasts in one place. It pays off when you have enough reps that this consistency matters.
Where it fits
It sits on top of your CRM and communication tools. Contacts and deals come from the CRM, calls come through Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or Webex, and meetings and notifications reach reps through the calendar and a Slack app. It replaces separate sequencing, call recording and forecasting tools.
It competes with Salesloft and Reply.io, and sits at the enterprise end. Apollo covers part of the same ground for smaller teams.
What stands out
- Breadth: sequences, conversation intelligence, deal management, account planning and forecasting in one product.
- AI agents that research accounts, prepare meetings and flag deal risks, paid for with AI credits.
- A developer portal with a REST API, webhooks, custom objects and data sharing to Snowflake.
- An official MCP server with 32 tools, on OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration.
My take
I would pick it when you have a real sales team, a CRM that holds the truth, and a revenue operations person who will configure it. The value is in the consistency and the management view.
I would not buy it for a handful of reps. The pricing is on request, the packages are built for larger teams, and the AI credits add a usage component. A lighter sequencing tool such as Reply.io or Instantly will do the basic job for less effort.
Verdict
Pick Outreach if you run a larger sales team and want sequences, call intelligence and forecasting under one roof. Skip it if you need a simple outbound tool or a published price.
Notes
Your note
Before you choose
Pricing is on request
Outreach asks you to request pricing for every package. It combines seat-based pricing with consumption-based pricing powered by AI credits, so two quotes can differ a lot. Ask what happens when you run out of credits.

Features differ by package
Essentials centres on conversation intelligence and coaching. Core focuses on sales execution and account management. The MCP server, advanced agents and API call limits appear in Plus and Pro. Map the features you need to a package before the demo.
It needs an owner
A platform this broad needs someone to configure sequences, permissions, reporting and the CRM sync. Without that person, reps use it as an email tool and you pay for the rest.
CRM sync decides the result
Outreach is only as good as the data it reads. Check how it connects to your CRM in the Outreach Marketplace, and test the two-way sync on real records before you sign.
