Productive vs Revolut Pro

Productive logovsRevolut Pro logo
Productive is agency software for projects, time and profit per client. Revolut Pro is a free business account with invoicing for freelancers. They sit in different parts of your finances.

The verdict

If you run an agency, consultancy or IT services firm with several people, projects and budgets to watch, pick Productive. If you are a freelancer or sole trader who wants a separate account and a simple way to send an invoice, pick Revolut Pro.

They are not alternatives for most people. A small agency could use Productive to run delivery and invoicing and hold its money in any business bank account. A solo freelancer gets little from Productive, because its value comes from time, budget and resourcing across a team. Revolut Pro would not give a team any of that, and it is not a bookkeeping tool either.

Who each is for

Productive logo

Choose Productive if…

Pick Productive if you sell time and projects and your numbers sit in separate tools. It ties time tracking, budgets, resourcing and invoicing together, and dashboards show results by project or client. It connects to QuickBooks, Xero, Slack and HubSpot rather than replacing them.

It is priced per user, with plans that split the finance features, and the top plan is priced by sales. Work out your own headcount before you compare. Start with the trial and a real project. Skip it if your team is very small and a spreadsheet still works, or if you only need a task tracker.

Revolut Pro logo

Choose Revolut Pro if…

Pick Revolut Pro if you are a freelancer, sole trader or side-hustler who does not want to register a company. You add the account in the Revolut app, so setup is quick, and the account itself has no monthly subscription.

It keeps business money apart from personal money, which makes year-end less messy. Expect processing fees when customers pay by card, and check the features and fees for your country. If you incorporate later, the vendor points you to Revolut Business. It will not do project budgets, resourcing or deep accounting links.
