If you run large, deadline-driven campaigns with many dependencies, pick ClickUp. If your team writes and plans more than it tracks, and already lives in Notion, pick Notion AI.
I ran ClickUp at my own agency for about a year and then moved the team back to Notion, because we wrote and planned more than we tracked. That is my own situation, not a rule. If I managed campaigns with many dependencies, I would stay on ClickUp. Notion AI is not sold as a separate add-on any more. It comes with the Business and Enterprise plans, so the real price is moving the whole workspace up a tier.

Choose ClickUp if…
Pick ClickUp if you manage many projects at the same time and want deep tracking. Views, custom fields and automations let a social media manager live in a board while a lead checks the Gantt chart. There is a free plan to test it with a real project.
It asks for a learning curve and an owner. Some colleagues needed coaching just to find their tasks, and some pages felt slow in my own use. Check how it feels with your own data during the trial. Skip it if your team mainly wants a place to write and keep notes.
Choose Notion AI if…
Pick Notion AI if Notion is already your system of record and you want agents and meeting notes next to your projects. The model can read the page, the project and the database beside it, so you stop pasting text into a separate chatbot.
An agent is only as useful as the workspace it reads. A tidy workspace gives good answers, and a messy one gives confident answers from stale pages. Heavier use is metered in credits. Check data handling by plan if you work with sensitive client data. Skip it if your team does not use Notion for the rest of its work.
