Automates business workflows and processes to reduce manual tasks and streamline team efficiency across departments.

Why airSlate

An automation platform designed for business workflows that streamlines processes and reduces manual tasks without requiring code. It connects multiple applications and automates repetitive work, helping teams improve efficiency and focus on higher-value activities. Suitable for organisations seeking workflow automation, improved efficiency and operational improvement across teams.

Best for
Operations, HR, legal and finance teams in small and mid-sized companies that run repeatable, document-heavy processes such as contracts, forms and approvals and want them automated.

What it does

airSlate is a family of document tools. The company owns SignNow for e-signatures, pdfFiller and DocHub for PDF work, US Legal Forms, Instapage for landing pages and a workflow product that is now called altaFlow, formerly airSlate WorkFlow.

altaFlow is the part that matters for this page. It lets you build document workflows without code: generate documents from templates, collect data through forms, route them for negotiation and signature, and move the result into other systems.

Why you would need it

Many processes start with a document. An NDA, an onboarding pack, a client agreement or an intake form. Someone fills it in, someone else checks it, somebody signs, and a copy goes to the right folder. Done by email, each step waits for a person, and files go missing.

A workflow tool makes the route fixed. The document is generated, sent, signed and filed by the same path every time.

A concrete example

Take a client onboarding. The deal closes, and you need an agreement, an intake form, a signature and a folder with the signed copy. In a workflow tool, the agreement is generated from the deal data, the client fills the form online, both sides sign, and the file is stored without anyone attaching it by hand. You can run the same route a hundred times.

Where it fits

It sits between the place where a deal or request starts and the place where the record lives. The vendor lists connections for Salesforce, SharePoint and NetSuite, and a set of APIs for forms, document generation, workflows and e-signature. It overlaps with DocuSign and PandaDoc, but it aims wider than signing alone.

What stands out

  • E-signature, forms, document generation and workflow routing in one product family.
  • No-code builders, so an operations person can create a flow.
  • A developer platform with four APIs: forms, document generation, workflows and e-signature.
  • Unlimited users on its plans, with volume-based pricing.

My take

I would look at airSlate when documents are the start of a process you repeat often. It earns its place when you can say how many agreements or forms you handle each month.

I would not buy it for the odd signature. A lean e-signature tool is quicker to learn. The brand has also changed shape, so the product on the old airSlate pages may not be the one you are sold today. Ask for a demo of altaFlow specifically.

Verdict

Pick it when documents drive a repeatable process and you want to automate it without code. Skip it when you only need to sign occasionally, or when your CRM already generates and sends contracts.

Before you choose

The brand and products have changed

airSlate is now a holding company, and its workflow product is altaFlow. The old airslate.com pricing page shows nothing, so make sure you are comparing the right product and the right documentation.

Pricing is by quote

The altaFlow pricing page asks you to contact sales for all three plans, with unlimited users and volume-based pricing. Some older metadata still lists fixed prices, which is not what visitors see. Treat the quote as the real number, and ask what counts as volume.

Modelling workflows takes effort

No-code does not mean no thinking. A good flow needs clear steps, owners and exceptions. Plan some time to design the first two or three processes before you roll out wider.

Alternatives to compare

For signing and proposals, compare DocuSign, PandaDoc, Dropbox Sign and GetAccept. For general checklists and approvals, Process Street is a lighter option.
