Manage shipping labels, select carriers, track orders and process returns from one platform.

Why Sendcloud

Sendcloud streamlines shipping for online retailers by centralising labels, carrier selection, order tracking and returns processing. Designed for e-commerce teams managing multiple carriers and growing order volumes, it keeps shipping labels, tracking and returns in one dashboard instead of scattered across different tools and carriers.

Best for
Online shops that ship enough parcels to want several carriers, branded tracking and a returns portal without building shipping logistics themselves, mainly in Europe.

What it does

Sendcloud is a shipping platform for online shops. It connects your shop to carriers, prints labels, gives customers branded tracking and handles returns. The vendor says it works with more than 170 carriers, and it offers more than 100 plug and play integrations with shop platforms such as Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, Magento and PrestaShop.

It also covers checkout, with flexible delivery options, and pick and pack, so you can process orders without a separate warehouse system. You can use its pre-negotiated carrier rates or connect your own carrier contract.

Why you would need it

Early on, shipping means copying addresses into a carrier site and printing labels by hand. It works for ten parcels a week and breaks at a hundred. Customers then ask where their parcel is, and returns arrive by email.

Sendcloud automates the repeated part. Orders flow in, labels print in bulk, customers get tracking and a returns page does the rest. The vendor says its users save an average of seven minutes per parcel. Even if that varies, you can feel the saving as volume grows.

Where it fits

Sendcloud sits between your shop's checkout and your carriers. The shop platform and payment provider stay where they are. It is the shipping layer, and it replaces manual label printing, separate carrier accounts and a spreadsheet of tracking numbers.

What stands out

  • Carrier choice through one contract. You can compare carriers and use one platform for labels.
  • Branded tracking and returns. Customers see your branding, not a carrier's page.
  • Pick and pack without a warehouse system. Small teams get a guided process for picking orders.
  • A public API. The developer portal covers shipments, orders, returns, service points and parcel tracking.

My take

Sendcloud makes sense for a European shop that has passed the first stage and wants shipping to stop eating hours. The value is carrier choice and the tracking and returns experience, both of which customers notice.

I'd check two things. First, the label fee on top of the plan, because it adds up with volume. Second, how well it fits your sales channels. Check that your shop platform has a plug and play integration before you start.

Verdict

Pick Sendcloud when you ship a steady flow of parcels in Europe and want carrier choice, branded tracking and returns without custom work. Skip it when you ship only a handful of parcels, where the free tier is enough, or when you ship mostly outside Europe.

Features rise by plan

Branded tracking, the returns portal and white label branding appear on higher plans. Check which features you need on day one before choosing the entry tier.

Regional fit

Sendcloud is built for European e-commerce, and its carrier list reflects that. If you ship mainly to the US or Asia, check carrier coverage and cross-border options first.
