MCP server

What it is
Official, vendor-built and vendor-hosted MCP server (Otter 'builds and hosts this MCP server' per Merge docs). OAuth-authenticated with granular permissions; connects to Claude (approved connector in Claude's directory) and ChatGPT (listed in ChatGPT App Store). Setup is done through the web version of Otter (Settings → Connectors → Browse connectors), desktop app not yet supported. Included on the free Basic plan per Otter's pricing page. Third-party wrappers also exist (Zapier MCP, Composio, Chipp). Note: MCP uses OAuth while the REST API uses static Bearer API keys (max 2 per user, ~10 req/s); the API does not support OAuth.

Checked on 2026-10-10 in the developer documentation.

How to automate Otter.ai

Native integrations

Otter connects with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Google Calendar, Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Notion, Asana, Dropbox, Google Drive and Glean. Connect your calendar so it joins the right calls. Then send each summary to the account channel in Slack and log it to the deal in HubSpot.

MCP server

Otter has an official MCP server at mcp.otter.ai, available on all plans including Basic. Connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and ask for every objection raised in last month's calls, or draft a follow-up email from a specific meeting.

API and webhooks

The public API and webhooks are for Enterprise workspaces only. If you have one, use them to push new transcripts into a research repository or to trigger a workflow when a meeting ends.
