What it is
Team memberships are group plans. One buyer, such as a manager or a company, pays for access for a number of people, and each person gets their own login. An administrator can usually add and remove people and, in some tools, see who has finished what. For example, a training business could sell a course to a company for its twelve employees on a single invoice. LearnWorlds, Memberstack, Teachable and Thinkific are examples of tools listed with this feature.
Why it matters
If you sell to businesses, nobody wants to buy twelve separate accounts and chase each person for a receipt. Team access lets you sell larger deals and keeps the buyer in control. You need it when your customers are organisations or families who buy for others. You can skip it if you sell only to individual consumers, where personal accounts are simpler.
What to check
- Can the buyer add and remove people without contacting you?
- Does the administrator see progress or usage for the group?
- Is billing handled as one payment, and can the number of seats change later?
- Does each person keep a separate login and their own progress?
