Invitee calendar overlay

What it is
Invitee calendar overlay lets the person booking a meeting connect their own calendar and see their own appointments next to your free times. They can spot straight away which of your slots clash with their day, rather than picking one and discovering a conflict later. SavvyCal is an example of a tool that offers it.
Why it matters
A booking page that shows only the host's availability forces the other person to flip between windows and guess. This leads to rescheduling, which wastes time and makes you look disorganised. Overlay matters most when you book busy people, such as senior clients or partners, who value an easy experience. For simple, high-volume bookings, such as short support calls, it may be more than you need. Think about privacy as well, since visitors may hesitate to share a calendar with someone they do not know.
What to check
- Ask whether the overlay is optional for the invitee, and whether their calendar data is stored or only shown.
- Check which calendar services can be connected, such as Google and Outlook.
- Try booking as an outsider to see whether the overlay feels simple.
- Find out whether the host can see anything from the invitee's calendar.
