Paddle vs Revolut Pro

Paddle logovsRevolut Pro logo
Paddle takes payments and handles tax for software sold abroad. Revolut Pro is a separate business bank account for freelancers. One sits at the checkout, the other is where money lands.

The verdict

These two rarely compete. If you sell software or digital products worldwide and do not want to run tax yourself, I'd pick Paddle. If you are a freelancer or sole trader who needs a business account separate from your personal one, with simple ways to get paid, I'd pick Revolut Pro.

A software business could use both, with Paddle at the checkout and a business account for the payouts. Check Revolut's own page for your market, since features and fees vary. If you incorporate, the vendor points you to Revolut Business, a different product. For a product that sells subscriptions abroad, a payment link will not replace a merchant of record.

Who each is for

Paddle logo

Choose Paddle if…

Pick Paddle if you sell SaaS, apps or digital products internationally and the tax work is what holds you back. Paddle is the legal seller, it remits the tax, and it adds fraud protection, a localised checkout and failed-payment recovery.

The pay-as-you-go rate has no monthly fee, and the developer tools include a sandbox, an OpenAPI spec, SDKs and an official MCP server.

It is not a bank account or a tool for in-person freelancing. Customers see Paddle on their statements, you depend on its rules and account review, and low-priced or invoicing-heavy cases may need a custom quote. Plan how your payouts will reach your bank.

Revolut Pro logo

Choose Revolut Pro if…

Pick Revolut Pro if you freelance, trade as a sole trader or run a side business and have no registered company. The main value is separation. You get an IBAN and a Pro card of your own, so business spend stops mixing with groceries, and the year end gets easier.

You can take payments by link, QR code or invoice, and in person with Revolut Terminals or Tap to Pay on iPhone. The account has no monthly subscription, but card payments carry processing fees, higher for international and commercial cards.

It does not handle tax for you, and it is not a bookkeeping or subscription billing tool. Check the page for your own market before you sign up.
