How to automate Paddle
API and webhooks
Paddle has a public REST API with an OpenAPI spec, a developer sandbox and SDKs for Node.js, Python, Go and PHP, plus Paddle.js for the checkout. Webhooks tell your app when a subscription starts, renews or fails. Use them to provision and cut access in your own product, and to send billing events to your CRM such as HubSpot.
MCP server
Paddle has an official MCP server. Use a sandbox API key to test, or OAuth for the live environment, and start with read-only access. An agent can then answer questions about subscriptions or help set up prices, with approval before anything that changes data. A good first use is asking for the list of customers whose payments failed this week.
Built-in automation
Retain runs the failed-payment recovery for you, and Paddle handles tax calculation and remittance automatically. Turn these on first, since they remove the most manual work.
