Process Street vs Zapier

Process Street logovsZapier logo
Process Street guides people through repeatable procedures and records what they did. Zapier connects your apps so data moves without anyone copying it. Many teams use both.

The verdict

If people on your team paste data between tools, pick Zapier first. A form submission going into a CRM, a deal win announced in Slack and a new customer added to a sheet are quick to automate, and Zapier has a free plan to try. If the pain is a procedure that lives in someone's head and gets done differently each time, pick Process Street. It has no free plan, only a trial of its Pro plan. Plenty of teams end up with both: Process Street for onboarding, and Zapier moving the data that onboarding creates.

Who each is for

Process Street logo

Choose Process Street if…

Pick Process Street if you run operations, onboarding or compliance work and need proof of what was done. Steps branch on answers, approvals sit inside the run, and the record shows where runs get stuck. It replaces the static SOP document and the shared checklist spreadsheet. I first used it in 2020, when it had a generous free plan. Since then it has moved towards audit logs, SSO and compliance, so check that the weight suits you. It is not a task manager and not a CRM.

Zapier logo

Choose Zapier if…

Pick Zapier if you are a non-technical founder or a lean team that wants your apps connected without a developer. It connects more than 9,000 apps, and the editor is simple enough for non-developers to build and maintain. As a Zapier Certified Expert, I'd reach for it first for quick, reliable links between popular apps. Complex logic with loops or heavy branching feels clunky, and task-based pricing can surprise a team that scales fast, so watch your run counts.
