Omnisend vs Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement)

Omnisend logovsP(
Omnisend sends email, SMS and push for online stores and starts free. Pardot is Salesforce's B2B automation tied to CRM records. Pick by whether you sell through a shop or a sales team.

The verdict

If you run an online store and want email, SMS and push in one place, pick Omnisend. If you are a B2B team that already runs your sales process in Salesforce, pick Pardot.

For most small teams the choice is easy, because they fit only one of the two. Omnisend is a poor base for long B2B sales cycles, and Pardot is a poor first marketing tool for a small team. It is sold on annual contracts and priced per organisation, and its value comes from the link to the CRM. If you are small and B2B but not on Salesforce, I would look at HubSpot instead. It ties marketing and sales together and is easier to start with.

Who each is for

Choose Omnisend if…

Pick Omnisend if you are a small or mid-sized online store that has outgrown a basic newsletter tool. The free plan lets you send real campaigns before you commit, and the team will migrate your flows, lists and templates for you.

The flow builder is where it earns its keep. Welcome and abandoned cart flows run while you do something else. Watch two things. Price follows your contact count, and SMS sits on a higher plan and is billed per message, with rates that differ by country.

Choose Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement) if…

Pick Pardot if you are a B2B marketing and sales team that already pays for Salesforce and wants both sides to work from the same records. Sales can see what a prospect read and clicked before the call, and marketing can see what happened to the leads it passed on.

Expect an annual contract and a setup that needs someone who knows both Salesforce and marketing automation. If you move your CRM later, the tool loses most of its reason to exist, so plan for that before you build years of scoring rules inside it.
